The China International Big Data Industry Expo 2025 (Big Data Expo 2025) concluded on August 30 in Guiyang, Guizhou. Over its three-day duration, representatives from government agencies, business executives, and experts & scholars, both domestic and international, engaged in discussions centered on the theme "Data Drives Industrial Momentum, Intelligence Unlocks the Future." The Expo featured 89 diverse activities, attracted over 55,000 attendances, registered more than 16,000 guests from across the globe, and saw 375 Chinese and international companies participate as exhibitors.
This year's expo actively worked to foster the creation of a supply-demand matching platform for innovative digital economy solutions. It established an international supply-demand cooperation exhibition zone and organized a series of international matching and exchange activities, comprehensively showcasing digital solutions and expertise to advance the innovative development of the global digital economy.
The central theme of "reforms related to the allocation of data elements" permeated all aspects of this year's Big Data Expo. During the event, the Beijing International Data Exchange, Shenzhen Data Exchange, and Guiyang Big Data Exchange jointly hosted the "Data Trading Ecosystem Conference." Zhang Guangqi, Vice Chairman of the Guizhou Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), stated, "With data recognized as a new factor of production, unlocking its value has become a driving force for high-quality development. The joint organization of the Data Trading Ecosystem Conference by these three data exchanges is a practical step towards consolidating the synergy of the national data ecosystem."
Experts, scholars, and industry representatives at the Big Data Expo engaged in extensive discussions on frontier topics, collectively envisioning a future where humans, machines, and the world coexist. At the "Big Data Expo 2025 · DATA Night," an event co-hosted by People.cn and Guizhou Big Data Group, over 200 Chinese and international delegates from government, industry, academia, research, and application sectors gathered to explore development pathways for integrated innovation between data and embodied AI industries. Ren Xianliang, Secretary-General of the World Internet Conference (WIC), observed that embodied AI technologies and applications, notably humanoid robots, are experiencing rapid growth, becoming a new high ground for global technological competition in the digital intelligence era. To seize the opportunities presented by embodied AI and address potential risks and challenges, he advocated for further promoting open-source development, facilitating the joint contribution to and sharing of high-quality datasets, and deepening global open cooperation to ensure technological advancements benefit human society.
A professional exhibition was also held during the expo, prominently displaying cutting-edge technologies and application achievements in areas such as digital infrastructure, large AI models, data security, and smart terminals. Concurrently, the expo hosted a series of activities including supply-demand matchmaking, enterprise roadshows, technical seminars, and corporate achievement releases, thereby establishing a specialized platform that integrated technology exchange, business opportunity matching, and the commercialization and application of achievements.
This year's Big Data Expo exhibited over 1,300 new products, technologies, and solutions and welcomed 91,000 visitors. It featured six major thematic pavilions: Digital Intelligence Leadership, Digital Intelligence Infrastructure, Digital Intelligence Services, Digital Intelligence Application, Digital Intelligence Innovation, and Digital Intelligence Experience, with a total professional exhibition area of 60,000 square meters.
Three agile robot dogs nimbly patrolled the area, automatically identifying equipment malfunctions and precisely locating potential hazards. Nearby, on-site visitors donned exoskeleton devices to experience high-intensity work scenarios. These and other innovative achievements, integrating data elements with artificial intelligence technology from China Southern Power Grid, captivated a significant audience within the Digital Intelligence Infrastructure thematic pavilion. "We are fully embracing AI development, using high-quality datasets to cultivate high-quality large models and empowering relevant scenarios with these models. We have established 292 deep AI applications across various industries," stated Long Yun, General Manager of Digitalization Department at China Southern Power Grid.
As visitors navigated the exhibition halls, they delved into the re-creation of bionic hands, experienced the robust functionalities of AI-powered smart glasses, and explored comprehensive AI-enabled tourism solutions. A host of cutting-edge technologies and innovative products debuted, collectively presenting a digital exhibition that delivered both visual impact and immersive experiences to attendees.
This year marks the eleventh successful iteration of the Big Data Expo. During the event, a total of 90 items were unveiled, including theoretical reports, industry standards, typical cases, and technological breakthroughs. Three major competitions were successfully hosted: the Guizhou division of the "Data Elements ×" Competition, the Guizhou division of the 9th Industrial Information Security Skills Competition (National AI Security Championship), and the Guizhou division of the HUAWEI Developer Competition. The Expo also facilitated supply-demand matching across sectors such as data, computing power, and artificial intelligence, leading to the planning of 100 digital economy projects and attracting investments totaling 46.336 billion yuan.
