To demonstrate the latest leading scientific and technological achievements in the field of big data worldwide, present the influence and innovation of big data, highlight the wisdom and contribution of big data practitioners, and build a world-class innovation exchange platform, the China International Big Data Industry Expo 2021 (“Big Data Expo 2021”) will hold a series of events for the release of leading scientific and technological achievements of big data. The Internet Society of China, as the organizer of the events, is now collecting leading scientific and technological achievements in the field of big data from all over the world, and hereby informs you of the following issues.

I. Introduction of the Release Events

1. Time: May 2021 (the exact date will be announced on the official websites of the Big Data Expo and the Internet Society of China).

2. Venue: Guiyang International Eco-Conference Center, Guizhou Province.

3. Content: The events aim to collect scientific and technological achievements related to big data from all over the world, and select the leading ones according to the principles of fairness, impartiality, objectivity and authority. The results will be released and certificates will be issued at the site of the Big Data Expo, and will be exhibited on the official website of Big Data Expo, media partners and other platforms.

4. Participants: authoritative experts in related fields, guests from government and enterprises, owners of leading scientific and technological achievements, and invited mainstream media agencies.

II. Scope of Collection

1. Sources: Enterprises, universities, research institutions, industrial organizations and individuals around the world.

2. Criteria: The following four types of projects can be collected as leading scientific and technological achievements for “Big Data Expo Release”:

(1). Frontier technologies: powerful or advanced technology evolved from high technology, as well as innovation, software and hardware combination, etc., also including the improvement and upgrading of product experience based on existing technology. (Projects of this category are selected from the 2, 3, 4 categories only).

(2). New products: advanced and innovative products created in the field of big data and used in business operation, including but not limited to hardware, tools, equipment, facilities, software and other tangible or intangible carriers used to meet the needs of users.

(3). New technologies: advanced and innovative technical achievements in the field of big data including data collection, storage, processing and application, etc.

(4). Business models: business plans, strategies, processes, organizational structures, implementation models and solutions across all aspects of the big data field, such as resource development, R&D mode, manufacturing method, marketing system and market circulation.

Amid the current global outbreak of Covid-19, a great number of scientific and technological achievements have emerged in the prevention, control and treatment of the pandemic by using big data related technology. A separate section will be set up to publish the awards for this category.

III. Channels of Release

1. Special launch event: A special launch event on the leading scientific and technological achievements will be held on the opening day of the Big Data Expo 2021, awarding prizes and certificates to the winning projects.

2. Exhibition of leading scientific and technological achievements: An exhibition of the leading scientific and technological achievements will be held during the Big Data Expo 2021. In addition, roadshows of leading achievements and projects of leading teams will be conducted, bridging various participants and resources to promote the transfer and transformation of scientific and technological achievements.

3 Media publicity: The collected achievements will be shown by the official media partners of the Big Data Expo 2021 and showcased in the publication of the Expo.

(4) Others: Big Data Expo will encourage and support the transformation of the leading scientific and technological achievements and carry out normalized follow-up services.

IV. Channels of Collection

1. Channels of application

A combination of recommendation by professional institutions and self-nomination by entities (individuals) is adopted, and the application materials should be submitted through the online system.

The achievements applied in 2020 will be directly included in the evaluation of 2021, and the entities or individuals can update their application before the deadline in 2021 according to the progress of the project.

2. Materials to be submitted

After registering for the declaration system, log in and download and fill out the “Big Data Expo 2021 Leading Science and Technology Achievements & Project Selection Declaration Form”, see the “Instructions” and the tips on the declaration system page.

In addition to the basic information, the applicant should provide the following materials (including but not limited to).

a. Introduction of the achievements.

b. Supporting materials such as certificates of independent intellectual property rights.

c. Supporting materials proving the authenticity and progressiveness of the achievements, such as third-party evaluation reports, sci-tech novelty retrieval reports, media reports.

d. Supporting materials of economic and social benefits achieved or expected to achieve.

a. Declaration deadline: March 19, 17:00 (This may change based on practical conditions. See the official websites and the official WeChat account of Big Data Expo and Internet Society of China for the exact deadline.)
