To showcase the state-of-the-art big data products, technologies and business models across the globe, manifest the influence and innovation power of big data industry along with the contribution and wisdom of professionals, and build a world-class platform for innovation exchanges and exhibition, China International Big Data Industry Expo 2020 has decided to hold an event series for the release of leading big data technology achievements. We hereby invite you, wherever you are, to submit such achievements to the Expo. Here are the details:

I. Event Basics

(1) Time: On the occasion of Big Data Expo 2020

(2) Location: Expo Release Hall

(3) Descriptions: We are collecting leading big data technology achievements from all over the world. We will review the submissions in an authoritative, fair, just and objective manner, and award the bests of the bests at the Expo Release Hall. The winning submissions will also be named in the Expo Release Journal, and publicized on the Expo’s official website or other media platforms.

(4) Participants: 500 or so, including authoritative experts in relevant fields, government and company representatives, owners of leading technical achievements, and members of invited mainstream media agencies.

II. Scope

(1) Target groups: companies, universities, research institutes, trade associations, and individuals across the globe

(2) Categories: Focused on this year’s theme, “Valuation of Data and Modernization of Data”, we are collecting leading technical achievements under the following four categories:

1. Cool technology. It refers to an innovative technology, a new product, or an unexpected, unimaginable, or even magical technical experience (“cool technology” is not for application; this title will be awarded to submissions picked from Categories 2-4 below)

2. New product. It refers to an advanced and innovative product produced in the field of bid data and used for operation, including but not limited to hardware, tools, equipment, facilities, software, and other tangible or intangible items which meet the needs of users.

3. New technology. It refers to an advanced and innovative technical achievement in the field of big data, involving data mining, storage, processing and application.

4. Business model. It refers to a business plan, strategy, process, organizational structure, implementation mode, service mode or solution that builds one of the rungs of the big data ladder, including resource exploration, R&D mode, manufacturing mode, marketing system, and market circulation.

In a Covid-19 outbreak context, the Expo release will dedicate a section to big data technology achievements with remarkable contributions to epidemic prevention, control and diagnosis.

III. Application

(1) Channels

We accept recommendations by professional agencies and self-recommendations by entities and individuals.

Applicants shall submit the required materials online (log on to http://award.isc.org.cn, and enter the “Leading Technical Achievements Application Management System”).

(2) Application Materials

After signing up to the system, applicants shall download and fill out the Application for Leading Technical Achievements of Big Data Expo 2020. For more details, see the Application Instructions and notes on the system’s page.

In addition to basic information, applicants shall submit materials including but not limited to:

1. Introduction to the achievement;

2. Independent IPR and relevant proof;

3. The third-party authentication report, sci-tech novelty retrieval report, media reports, and relevant proof of authenticity and novelty.

4. Proof of current or potential socioeconomic benefits.

The deadline will be announced by the Expo’s official website and WeChat official account.
